A: There are 3 big fundraising events throughout the band season:
The Student Fan Pledge (~August '23). This is our largest fundraiser!
Hawk Sqwalk and Run (~Feb '24)
Jazz Dinner/Dance (~March '24)

Marching Uniform provided by VVHS.
Marching gloves (all except guard and percussion) purchased through band boosters.
Two pairs of athletic shoes with good arch support so can rotate use, does not have to be name brand.
Drawstring bag to keep shoes in the locker.
Hawk band water koozie with water bottle.
One pair of marching band shoes, fitted at the end of designated band camp day (winds and percussion only).
Five white and/or gray t-shirts for marching band practice, considered SPF protective.
Long length black socks, over the calf three pair
One set of fatigues, recommend two so can wash one and have another ready to wear from band boosters.
Sunscreen for body, face and ChapStick with sunscreen.
Sunglasses
Hat
Blue jeans, one pair at least that are plain, traditional, non “washed” blue color, no tears, no holes.
Pencils
Guard-coordinate with the Guard Director for your shoes and uniforms.
Q: What is the difference between Band Leadership (BLT) vs Band Council Leadership?
A: BLT is comprised of section captains/leaders from each section (based on musical performance) and council is comprised of students who have roles based on an application and interview process with the director.
